FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
A: Unfortunately, due to liquor licensing laws and regulations, only an open bar is permitted on a private venue without a liquor license.
A: Our service area is the South Central Wisconsin region, which encompasses a radius of approx. 55 miles of Madison (about a 1 hr. drive from the west side where we’re based).
A: We do not currently offer these specific items. However, we have a supply of disposable plastic cups for purchase, as well as a beer tapping system for rent. We find that many locations already have an adequate counter space, bar, and/or tables available that will work well for our needs. For any additional equipment, we suggest you contact a local event supply rental company. Please visit the bottom of our About page to find links for equipment rental agencies.
A: We work with customers on an individual basis to determine their beverage catering needs. We offer catering on an a la carte arrangement (based on the size/length of event), allowing customers to mix and match from a selection of single-serve beer, house wine, spirits, mixers, soft drinks, and/or garnishes. Some exclusions and limitations apply. A FULL catering package (beer/wine/spirits/soft drinks) is generally limited to smaller group sizes of 100 or less.
A: No, we require that any alcohol supplied by Catered Cocktails be served by our staff only.
A: Our policy is that anyone under the age of 30 may be asked to present identification to confirm their legal drinking age when requesting alcohol. Carding of guests is at the discretion of Catered Cocktails staff. We highly recommend you alert your guests ahead of time of this policy so they know to have their ID handy.
A: Yes! Our waitstaff services are available as an add-on to an existing bartending reservation and include: restocking buffet lines, passing appetizers, and bussing of tableware. It’s recommended that you use disposable dinnerware to make cleanup easier. If you require removal, rinsing and/or washing of china plates, silverware, and/or glasses, an additional $2/pp fee applies. We may not be able to accommodate large group requests due to staffing limitations.
A: Absolutely! This is a complimentary service that is included with your booking. We’ll work with you one-on-one to determine a comprehensive list of products to purchase based on the specifics of your party.
A: It depends. Alcohol must not be left unattended so a bartender must stay behind the bar at all times. Our remaining bartenders may be able to help pour at tables but it’s important to consider the ratio of staff to guests. We recommend one server for every 30-40 guests to avoid long delays in completing this task. We recommend consulting with your caterer and/or event planner to see if they are able to offer any assistance with champagne pouring.
A: For the sake of consistency and to avoid any complications, we employ staffing guidelines based on our extensive prior experience. It’s important to have the correct ratio of servers to attendees for optimal guest service. If business demand slows later into the event, we may be able to work out an arrangement to release a staff person early.
A: We pride ourselves in offering our clients flexibility; therefore, our packages do not come standard with any consumable products. However, clients may choose to add on to any service package by ordering beverages, disposable drinkware, garnishes, and/or ice.
A: Definitely! We respect your decision to keep tip jars off the bar. In such cases, we will add a Host gratuity to your service fee. This gratuity is based on the number of expected guests and length of your event.
A: Due to licensing, insurance, and venue regulations, all alcoholic beverages must be served by our licensed bartenders at all times. You are more than welcome to put out water and soft drinks for self-service however.
A: To reserve your date with us, we’ll need your name, address, and phone number, along with the details of your event in order to prepare a digital contract. Once the agreement is signed, your deposit of 50% down will be due to complete the booking. Full payment is required for events 30 days out or less. Simply visit our Contact page to start the process by first providing all essential event information in the Contact form. We'll then follow up with details and a custom proposal.
